Note that if you have more than one account each one has its own individual personalisation settings. You'll need to make the same changes for each of the accounts.

This is rather weird......two laptops, running same version, same build......on the ''upstairs'' one everything is fine........on the ''downstairs'' one, it won't work......I am still getting the seascape picture......both have exactly the same settings.......what's going on ?........Del.

Nope, Can't work this one out at all, I did wonder if it was a Windows update thing, as the problem started a couple of week ago, after both machines updated, and these stupid pictures started appearing......both laptops are up to date, both with same updates.......one starts up with my own picture, the Hero screen, one with either the seascape, or those lantern things.........WHY ??........Del.

    Hi Del,
Well, I had the feeling that sometimes Windows was not saving the settings. It means, it changed things but next time the "old" settings came back.
I do not know what to suggest you, may be to boot in safe mode, try to do changes there, otherwise retry it after next normal boot.

Navigate to C:\Windows\Web\Screen, take Ownership of those images, delete them then put your own native resolution .jpg image in there named img100.jpg

Well, if it helps to diagnose what's going on, the Seascape is a local file placed on your PC at install: C:\Windows\Web\Screen\img100.jpg. If you can't get it to stop showing pictures from this folder you could usefully set it to use C:\Windows\Web\Screen\img105.jpg which is just a pale blue background.

The 'stupid Halloween lamps' of the OP on the other hand were download off the web by Windows Spotlight (and would have been changed regularly if you'd left it 'as is'). One (and only the one) of my accounts acquired the same lock screen after I did an in-place reinstall of the AU.
