Who Wants a Fully Working Recycle Bin Icon in the Windows 10 Taskbar?

Who Wants a Fully Working Recycle Bin Icon in the Windows 10 Taskbar?

I read garbage like this and wonder "How much do people really know how to use Windows?"

I have been placing my Recycle Bin on my taskbar since Windows 7.

All you have to do is, right click the taskbar and turn the Desktop toolbar on, slide the recycle bin to the top, unlock the taskbar and right click near it, then turn off Show Text & Show Title, change view to large icons, shrink till only the Recycle Bin shows, and finally lock the taskbar. The first time doing this, it can happen that after a reboot or explore restart that the default icon(personal folder I believe will slip into it's original position, hiding the Recycle Bin, but after a few time adjusting, it will finally stick. I then hide the desktop icons(they are now in the toolbar) Done!!!

I use the 'Quick Launch' tool bar in Windows 8, but never thought about putting the recycle bin in there.

That's actually a pretty good idea, although I've had two icons on my desktop (My Computer and Recycle Bin) for so long now, it would feel strange if I moved them.

I just create a Desktop toolbar, that way I can access anything on my desktop from the Taskbar.

The problem I have with a desktop icon is I can't see it or drag & drop to it if it's covered by a window, that's why I started doing it like written above.
I'm on 8.1 right now but I do the same on 7 and 10

It's just that it nerves me that people are telling Microsoft to do something, where the possibility has been there for years. Or the same thing with a tabbed Explorer, where all you have to do is either create a task or shortcut to open 2 instances at once, or like I said on another thread use 7Zip in dual panel mode.

Here it is on 10 without theme. You have to slide it to the top before turning show text & title off.

I used to use a direct delete, until.... oops where is it? And in those days there was no File history to get it back. I like to make sure at a glance if there is something in it I might still want before running Ccleaner. Plus I use the desktop toolbar anyhow.

It's not direct delete. I can turn on view desktop Icons and still recover what I deleted. I use it because I prefer no icons on my desktop.

Me too. That's why the taskbar. I never really under stood icons on the desktop because they're buried under open windows and with exceptions(Fences for example) don't look so hot covering the background.

I made a vid showing the method I mentioned. You should make one for the taskbar method :)
