In addition, the tutorial below works the same in Windows 10. :)

Recycle Bin - Pin to Taskbar in Windows 8
Shawn your option TWO is basically the same as my way, except I just use the bin in desktop toolbar, but most of the other steps are the same.(And yours is written nicer with pics:))

@STEVAE I started the thread because at User Voice and Windows 10 feedback they started a partition for something that can already be done with windows a very long time... putting the Recycle Bin on the taskbar. No additional steps from Microsoft is needed, and really no 3rd party tools. I can even add an Icon pack and change the bins look, but it is still the same bin.

I read garbage like this and wonder "How much do people really know how to use Windows?"

I have been placing my Recycle Bin on my taskbar since Windows 7.

All you have to do is, right click the taskbar and turn the Desktop toolbar on, slide the recycle bin to the top, unlock the taskbar and right click near it, then turn off Show Text & Show Title, change view to large icons, shrink till only the Recycle Bin shows, and finally lock the taskbar. The first time doing this, it can happen that after a reboot or explore restart that the default icon(personal folder I believe will slip into it's original position, hiding the Recycle Bin, but after a few time adjusting, it will finally stick. I then hide the desktop icons(they are now in the toolbar) Done!!!
Thanks Cliff. . .forgot about that little trick. . .:)

oh, ok. sorry. i misunderstood. i thought it was just about an easy way to get to recycle bin if you didn't want any icons on your desktop.

No it just nerves when people say there is no way to do something, or in the case of the Recycle Bin, they can't do something, and everything is there if they look. Or like yourself and other poster have shown, there are easier alternatives. My point originally was It is already on the task bar, if one turns on the Desktop toolbar:). By the way that is an interesting dock.

thanks. i like to have an extremely original look and feel. normally in win 7, i also got rid of the taskbar, and replaced it with a dock as well, but with windows ten, i can't find a way to transfer the "taskview" button to a dock. i use a lot of virtual desktops, so i have just kept the original task bar for now.
and i totally agree with you. it takes me back to all the people complaining about the popups in vista, where with three clicks they could have turned them off. but instead they just complained about them for years. lol. yeah...

Try to see if you can find taskview(or whatever abbreviation they use for it) in system32 or sysWOW64, create a shortcut to desktop, then try applying that to your dock.

nice idea, but i couldn't find anything. i would so love to find a usable shortcut, so i could replace the taskbar with another dock, but i am feeling less and less confidence that there is one.

UPDATE: while i couldn't find the shortcut in system32 or sysWOW64, you did stoke me to continue to research it, where i found something just as good, if not better.............................................................................................. ..........................keyboard shortcuts to both the task vew button, and the host of very useful menu options when your right click on the start menu. WOW! you saved me, man. without your suggestion, i doubt i would have found these any time soon. so now i have my top dock which does exactly what the task bar does (shows a few pinned shortcuts, and all open windows), but it does it better, faster and it looks a lot cooler. i will add a few pics soon. thanks again for the suggestion.
btw, if you guys don't know this already, the win key + X gives you the host of menu options you get when you right click on the start menu, and the win key + tab gives you virtual desktops. very cool.
