TileCreator seems to be working fine for me so far, the app does pop open for a brief second when you run any apps you've created tiles for but it's no biggie, and it makes the start screen look so much better. I like the no text, too, wish I could do it for the other tiles without having to make new ones but oh well..

Right so, apparently if you have this issue delete the folder and make sure to run the proxy executable as administrator. Soon as I did this it worked perfect.

    Code:

    Obsolete
Unfortunately its not working for me, I installed the file and set up the key/destination.
But Tile Creator is not making any usable tiles for me. Same as the person with
the Tera screenshot, I am getting the same issue.

    Hello,

is it possible to pin a folder rather than an application (and if possible, how)?

    Thanks!
Open the 'ApprovedApps.config' file, type this, for example:

then Shift-Right Click on a folder and 'Copy as Path':

... and paste, but remove the quotation marks, and Save:

    Pick your image!

Unfortunately do to limitations and restrictions of store apps this is a necessary evil to get custom tiles to work. You can however open Tilecreator and drag it to a corner behind your taskbar so you never notice it pop up, you can just about make a sliver of mine out behind my show desktop button:

If I need to edit or create a new tile I just open the app and press windows key + left and it will appear back normally on my desktop.

    Better StartMenu

    Hi,

I just published an app to create tiles on Windows 10 Start Menu. It's called "Better StartMenu". You can try it for free.

    Better StartMenu

Here's a screenshot of what you can do with Better StartMenu.

Thanks for the tip! Just put it as far into the corner as I could. I had wondered if something like that would work, but I hadn't opened the program since making me tiles.
