Lock Screen Problems in Anniversary Upgrade

I use Windows Home and find the inability to disable the Lock Screen on login really annoying. I used to use the registry fix on this forum but this no longer works.

In Spotlight Mode, the correct Lock Screen background is shown when I use Windows Key + L but the last selected picture Lock Screen background is shown when I log out. In Picture Mode, the correct LockScreen background is shown when I use Windows Key + L and log out. I can't get the slide show mode to work.

    In summary:

    • In Picture Mode, the Lock Screen background works
    • In Spotlight Mode, I see the correct background using Windows Key + L but the last set picture when I log out.
    • I can't get the Slideshow Mode to work - it just shows the last set picture whether I log out or use Windows Key + L.

Does anyone have this problem and have you found a solution?

I just wonder if that registry key that no longer works, is somehow interfering with the now-compulsory lock screen.

How about removing the registry key?

    See this thread:

Officially MS has removed the ability to disable it, although there is a way to disable it after locking your PC (just search the net).

The whole lock/login screen is not working properly, especially if you auto login.

See http://winaero.com/blog/winaero-tweaker-0-6-0-5-is-out/ which claims to disable the lock screen. Has anyone tried it and are there any risks / issues using WinAero?

I am using Win aero 0-6-0-5. I have the option to "disable lock screen" ticked but it still shows up at boot. It does not show if you press "windows-key" +L. during use of pc.

This purposeful restriction of the ability to disable an annoying "feature" has really turned me off Microsoft. Why would they do this? It is not just one more bug; it is the intentional blocking of a way to improve functionality.

And yes, I have installed the workaround, but why should I have to schedule a process to do battle with Microsoft at every login?

There are several lock screens, treated differently.
Nominally the one from restart cannot be disabled.
How to Disable the Lock Screen in Windows 10
same here with more pictures (!)
How to disable the Windows 10 lock screen | Windows Central
    - but you can't have the option to enter a password
Then there's the one on resume, which can be disabled quite easily.
    E.g. Winaero's Tweaker (or manually)
Then there's the Lock your desktop Lock screen. (Windows key + L e.g.)

    Confusing, isn't it?

I seem to have successfully disabled the lock screen both on restart and when switching users.
