Actually I have given up on UxStyle, too many headaches and black screens on uninstall and reboot, Windows Updates were a big headache too with it, everytime new updates are put out you have to either,
a.) uninstall UxStyle before applying updates or
b.) Cross your fingers that the updates do not conflict with UxStyle, which 99% of the time they do causing an unstable system or black screens.

    I mean, really ........
"For Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems (0.2.3.0)
    hxxp://uxstyle.com/builds/UxStyle_sep23_x86_x64_possibly_bugged.zip"

The UxStyle download for Windows 8 and 8.1 have been the same since the release of 8 and in all reality, who wants to install a file that is named "possibly bugged" ? The programmer does not keep up with it at all and I can say with all certainty that it will be the same for Windows 10

I have since taken up UxThemeBypass by Big Muscle, which does pretty much what it is named and Windows Updates don't mess with it, all the while you can run third party themes without any fuss or hassle whatsoever.

Until someone can release a STABLE UxStyle and keep up with fixes and updates, IMO I'd stay away from it.
I don't know where you download from, but the newest in my first post is stable. Also when using a theme patcher one should just choose a default windows theme before rebooting after any windows update other than for Defender. For example the creator os the theme I'm using placed this warming outside the files and folders so you can't help but see it: Attachment 16834 But to each his own, and other peoples opinions are important.

I have downloaded directly from UxStyle.

My point exactly, with UxThemeBypass, you don't have to go through all that hassle of changing to the default aero theme or whatever else they suggest, you keep your custom theme running, apply your updates and keep on moving.

I use to theme the heck out of Windows 7. With Classic Shell and a dark Background is all I need to use. But that is for me, if you want to theme--go for it.

'Noice'! That's the 'Gray' theme, right?

@Cliff S, in the readme it says to disable the ribbon and use the command bar. Have you ever tried it with the ribbon?

Yup, it doesn't look too good, because the shading is wrong, you know bright white in the middle and grey around the edges. I guess the ribbon has it's own color scheme.

I like the ribbon too. I just use the theme at night or just after waking up. Basically when my eyes get tired or strained. Otherwise windows built in stuff with a nice background is enough for me, specially when I'm using office stuff.
