I suspect it is more a case of the start menu has been enlarged by clicking and dragging on the menu border. It's a nice feature to be able to change the shape and you can then get rid of the dead space by making it less tall but widening it for seeing more of the tiles.

Agree.. I can drag mine higher and the space expands. Just wondering how this looks on a big hi-res screen...

No, haven't made any changes to font size or anything else. Perhaps its just the 1920 x 1080 resolution. Very glad I don't have to look at that any more!

Now if I can only get my HP printer to work...

Mine's the same res. but 15.6" laptop. Feel free to start a new thread if searching the forum doesn't help with your printer.

(I ignore the dreadful Win 10 start menu and use Classic Shell!)

I've used Win10 on other people's desktops and virtual machines for the past year... but, until recently, had stuck with Win7 for my primary desktop.

I'll grant that Win10 is an improvement in every way over 8/8.1... but the Start Menu still falls short of Windows 7. It just added too little, and removed too much.

I ended up replacing the Win10 Start Menu with StartIsBack (StartIsBack: real start menu for Windows 8 and Windows 10)

It's not free, but only costs $2 per PC. I call that a pretty fair price.
