    Hey @Cliff S:
I just found that you can Ctrl+Shift+6 for desktop 'list' view, then Ctrl+Scroll for visible icon size and retain list view.
    Doesn't survive a restart though!

Of God! Eye candy makes the system fun to use(not necessarily better).
And with Win10's very low memory use.... why the heck not!

O.k.......... Although the initial question has been resolved, I am not able to do the same with this forum's desktop icon.........I create a file, send it to downloads, then try to change the icon.......but it always says ''no icons in this folder''......or words to that effect.........what am I doing wrong ?..........Del.

You need to find a .png(best with transparency surrounding it) that is 256 x 256(pixels) and convert it to an icon either using GIMP with the "Iconify" add-on(which I use), or going here: ConvertICO.com - Convert PNG to ICO and ICO to PNG

You'll get hooked customizing icons, I did. I have some posted for download, and custom Tile packs for the Start Screen, in this forum: Solved Windows 10 Themes created by Ten Forums members - Windows 10 Forums
On most posts, I have also posted instructions how to apply them.
