What? I didn't look at your links, but I downloaded the custom Windows Media Center installation from a site (not remember where I found it) and the Windows 8 version does work. It runs an installation script in an elevated Command Prompt and copies the necessary files and registers the relevant components. If you Google a little you may find it. It works as expected (haven't tried a WMC remote, as I don't have one), only thing missing is DVD support.

Yes, I downloaded the patch from Microsoft but when attempting to install it you get a message that it is not supported in this version of Windows. If you had upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro with WMC it should install though.

Here is how to install Media Center on Windows 10 | Windows Central

To access create a shortcut file on Windows 10 desktop using: %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe , as entry.

Works in Threshold 2 installed an hour ago, also with DVD support

I also use ATI Remote Wonder 2004 which works on above

That's what I downloaded, but this is the Windows 10 version and didn't work for me. A little Google search later and I found the Windows 8 version. This worked on my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installation.

    First time did not work.

Wait after reboot and chose second file as administrator and wait for files to load in cmd window.
Perhaps close security / antivirus window temporarily
