    Windows 10 default blue theme

Hi, just started on a Windows 10 migration for a client. The client has previously used the Windows 10 Preview and really liked the 'blue' theme. The client doesn't really like the darkened black theme that now comes as default on Windows 10. Anyone know how to revert back to the default blue theme in the preview release or know which customisation I need to do to replicate that theme? Thanks.

If you mean changing the color of the border and taskbar, right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. Then click on color to select one of the color presets. To chose a custom color you must load the old color menu which is not accessible by default. To do it, create a shortcut and copy-paste this code in the path:

    C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,Advanced,@Advanced

Save the shortcut with an easy to remember name, like Advanced Color Setup and run it.

If you want to change the theme so the chosen color fills all the menu area instead of a thin outline, you have to download the aerolite theme and copy that into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Then right click on the desktop and select Personalize, Themes and then click on Theme settings where you can change the current theme. I know, they did it too complicated on Windows 10... but there are some hacks to return to the old Personalization menu if you want. If you need the wallpaper from the preview version, you could google for that.

If you need any other visual tweak, let us know. Also you can have a look at this forum category for some of my posts where I describe all the available tweaks.

Hi, thanks for the response. What I'm after is to find out if there is anyway to change the Windows 10 theme back to the default blue theme that was in Windows 10 preview?

Don't remember it, but you could install the Preview version in a virtual machine and then go to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and copy the theme from there. The wallpapers are in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper. You may have to change the date back to allow you install the Preview version.
