Please be aware that there is no guarantee any of this will keep working in future updates to Windows 10, and more importantly, these tweaks may actually cause future updates to fail and/or cause a future update to be unstable.

I'm not saying not to use them, but keep it in mind if your system suddenly starts acting strange.
I haven't tried the Tile Creator that does require to change security stuff in Windows 10. Using only the Aero Glass shouldn't give issues. If some updates later it won't work, I hope the programmer will have a new version that does. Not only makes buttons 3D, it even makes inactive windows gray, so you don't confuse them with the active window. When simply installing the aerolite theme it makes all menu bars to the chosen color and you couldn't easily tell which window is active from the menu color alone. Now Aero Glass rectifies this little problem and it is just like Windows 7. Bravo!

Million thanks! Aero Glass worked in both Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 Pro. I was about to start a new post when I read this thread! Now we can make Windows 10 exactly like Windows 7. We install the aerolite theme to make the menu bars colored, and we create a shortcut with the special command
    C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,Advanced,@Advanced
to enable the old Color and Appearance panel where we can set a custom color, rather than simply chose one of the presets. If we also want to tweak the size of the buttons, the font of menus, messages etc, as in Windows 7, we can use the winaero tweaker. The same guy has more tweaks such as restoring the classic calculator instead of the new app etc. I did almost all to make Windows 10 as close as possible to Windows 7. Thank him! The only missing feature was to make buttons 3D like in Windows 7 and you just solved that! Thank you all! I hope they don't become flat again after restart, otherwise I'll put it in the startup folder to enable automatically.

    Thanks again!
    - you don't actually need to use the aerolite theme now- it was necessary when Win 10 had no borders, but apparently an update (I was told) introduced borders after 'RTM' (which we shouldn't call RTM...).

    - Y'z shadow with exception for the universal apps adds drop shadows..
    - a registry hack (minor) I used all thru Win 8 changes background colours in most, and Qttabbar (Quizo's) allows you to colour explorer and control panel if you don't like glaring whitish backgrounds.

Winaero has an easy way of restoring the old calculator.

Well, the temps?... that is a whole other issue. I've been giving M$ feedback for weeks now regarding the weather app. It continually gives me incorrect data for my default locale. I use it in Celsius since I am in Yokosuka, JP. but even the F° says it's 104° here.......and it IS NOT that hot here... oh well, one issue at a time, right?

I seen that part where is said Yokosuka and had to look it up did not realize it was Japan although sounding japanese, but then saw the American flag on your profile here, you must of just added rest on profile. Assuming your in the military or work there too. I thought to maybe it was celsius, just had to comment on seeing how cold it was if it was Fahrenheit and thinking was the U.S.A. Not sure why app is incorrect, all i know is to input a zipcode, allow the apps to use your location. Maybe location problem according to how rest of system is setup and apps.
