Is there a way to change it for UEFI boot too? The method above is just for legacy mode.

The reason many pc's including desktop and laptops have their own post screen (such as Toshiba) is that the units BIOS chip has a bitmap image that is called onto the post screen. These BIOS chips such as AMI and Etc sometimes have an app available to change it depending on manufacturer. Sometimes enthuiasts post how to decompile and recompile the BIOS manually to include a custom POST image. Therefore thats a possible solution for UEFI than modifying the installed windows copy; that doesn't work. I don't recommend downloading BIOS files that they can be dangerous. The best way is to dump a copy of your own hardwares version or use an officially posted BIOS file from your computers manufacturer to work with. To work with I mean research and learn to make your own modified post logo BIOS.

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

Thank you for drawing my attention to this. Metabolix, the author of HackBGRT used in that video, has posted about it here on TF, but I hadn't spotted that until now...

You can change the boot logo in UEFI mode by modifying the relevant ACPI table (BGRT) with an EFI application before booting. AFAIK, the only application for this is currently my own, HackBGRT. (Open-source and all, so I certainly hope this doesn't count as advertising.) Be sure to tell if you find any other choices.

Edit: and it works as described...

Hello! I know this is an old thread, but so far I did not find any utility that can change the boot logo of a Legacy BIOS installation (the well known light blue Windows logo before showing the login screen). Is there any utility that can change that? I am interested for the standard Legacy logo, not any UEFI logo. For UEFI installations I can set a custom logo in my motherboard's UEFI firmware. I want to change the Legacy logo since I have a Legacy installation (see my specs).

    Thank you.

Apparently you have to hack bootres.dll, see post #18 & #19

I found this link: How to change the boot logo in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 (winaero.com) It is a little complicated, so I don't think is worth it. Any major update would cancel any changes to the file and I would have to do it again. Thanks anyway.
