Question: How to make Desktop icons have drop shadows and not the text underneath.
I have whatever icons come with the software and they are flat and I have no drop shadow on the text.
If I have to get icons then what is a good source of ones with a drop shadow?
I have Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.4123

I use Iconoid or Desktop Icon Toy to disable the drop shadow for the text. Unchecking the selection box in System Properties > Advanced Settings > Performance Options > Visual Effects > "Use Drop Shadows For icon Labels On The Desktop" doesn't work to disable the drop shadows under the desktop icons by itself.
In the past there was an option you also had to do that is now missing:

Go to Windows 10 Settings Panel > Personalization > Colors > (scroll down to the bottom) > and TURN OFF the button that says " Make Start, taskbar, and action center transparent"
Then Reboot.

Disable Drop Shadows for Desktop Icon Labels with a Registry Tweak
1. Open the Registry Editor app.
2. Go to the following Registry key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

3. On the right, modify or create a new 32-Bit DWORD value ListviewShadow.
Note: Even if you are running 64-bit Windows you must still create a 32-bit DWORD value.
Set its value to 1 to enable drop shadows for Desktop icon labels. A value data of 0 will disable them.
