    AeroGlass 8.1+ v1.4 released, Windows 10 support.

    Aero Glass for Windows 8.x+

    Change Log

    Now you can use it without the debug nag window.

    EDIT: Installer refuses to load under 32-0bit systems, the MAN files which appear to be archives provide a version of Aerohost.exe which is incompatible and cannot run. I'm going back to the debug version until this gets sorted. I'll keep my eye on their forums to find out what the issue is. But I have it on good authority that the guy who develops this tweak does this kind of thing deliberately.

    EDIT II: I posted below the reason why the 32-bit installer was failing, the Modern Apps support module is 64-bit only. So I'd like to see any screenshots if anyone on a 64-bit system has that running.

    Nope, that's the debug version, which I still have running actually and have been running for 2 weeks with no problems. Read the ChangeLog. Here, I'll do it for you:

    Code:
    -- 1.4 --
    * Windows 10 10.0.10240 support
    * hardcoded symbol patterns for current version of DWM in Win8.1
    * added build numbering
    * hopefully fixed crash on device resource change
    * blur deviation setting partially influences Win10 blur accent too
    * lots of stability and performance fixes and code refactoring
    * added >>experimental<< module to enable glass frame on Win10 Modern apps - this requires secure boot to be off
    * added support for custom atlas layout, format:
    	- each line has format "x;y;z=a,b,c,d"
    	- x, y, z specify the part, its state and the property respectively
    	- a, b, c, d specify position rectangle in atlas image (for z = 8002) or the part sizing/content margins (for z = 3601/3602)
    	- see example layout file for description of individual part identifiers
    	- see MSDN documentation of GetThemeRect and GetThemeMargins function for further information
    	- line "CaptionHeight=n" allows you to change the size of caption buttons to "n" pixels
    	- everything after # is considered to the comment and is ignored

    * KNOWN WIN10 LIMITATION:
    	- due to the way how Win10 composes windows frames, it is not possible to fully apply corner radius
    	- for the same reason you can see blurred separation of	window caption

    Update, the neither the installer nor the archived files work on a 32 bit system. This does not mean it won't work on a 64 bit system.

    Edit: The download links are right there on the page I posted, unless they were removed within the last 5 minutes. Look for v1.4.

    Nope, they are right there on the page in plain sight. If you have a 64 bit machine, try it and let us know if it works.

    Ok found out what was happening, the Modern App support they built in is incompatible with 32-bit Windows 10. So, unclick this box:

    AeroGlass 8.1+ v1.4 released, Windows 10 support.-tile-error-x.png

    And then this won't happen:

    AeroGlass 8.1+ v1.4 released, Windows 10 support.-tile-error.png

    Heh, someone ought to make a 23-bit OS just ftfoi.

    He removed the Debug Version. I can post that to Dropbox if anyone wants it.

    I am now using v1.4, I have it all working save the Tile Apps. I just reported this error to the forums, so we'll see if he fixes it, sometimes he does.

    Oh I definitely want Aero, it was what I despised about Windows 8, the removal of it. But I have it going in 8 now too thanks to variations of this tweak.

    Thanks for effort and post for others interested in wanting Aero. For me i can live without the effects, then becomes another running resource.

    It has minimal impact on my machines, my 8 machine has 4GB of Ram and no AV's or anything else installed, I play movies and that's it, no browsing or anything. That's what I like about this tweak, it's small-footprint as far as I can tell, it's module hooks into the already running DWM.

    I have even less available resources on my 10 machine, but I am not having any issues at all so far, and I have a full contingent of protection installed.
