Without dark mode I feel like a vampire exposed to sunlight.

I think it's just users finding white too bright and they don't know how to adjust gamma or color profile so they use dark mode instead.

Personally I use light mode with only use a couple of other apps that have optional dark skins built in.

I've often wondered how others view what I view ......... something I'll probably never know, but respect that what they find pleasant may be what I find hurtful.

Just an example. Light - I find easier to read if adjusted.

Dark - not so easy (for me)

Well, I certainly will not contest that if you prefer light and I prefer dark, then light is better for you.
