I'm willing to bet its a service that is restoring those locations, that happened a lot with Vista. It MAY have said something about the "windows experience" or something like that.

I changed so much in win8 I dont recall everything, after upgrading to winX, anything that got deleted stayed gone.

For Camera Roll & Saved Pictures, I seem to recall reading somewhere that one of the camera apps (Photo, Windows Camera, etc.) is the one recreating these folders.

You may try uninstalling them, since you can always restore them from Windows Store.

I haven't found a good answer for either Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, or Videos since they are designated "system folders" and cannot be deleted.

However, you can prevent any library from being displayed in the Navigation Pane. (https://www.tenforums.com/general-dis...urrecting.html)

Remember, also, that libraries can be "managed" in several ways (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8...dows-10-a.html).

I'm inclined to think it IS a "service"

I tried stopping some of the running services that didn't seem like they were important and the folders stayed gone until I rebooted.

I'll test some more and get back.

I spoke too soon; Brink has answered my question about the other system folders (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/6...dows-10-a.html).

OldNewExplorer does that too, so I already took care of it :)

But thanks for the link, hopefully it will help others who don't use that program.

Those are removed and hidden thru registry tweaks.

Hmm, seems to be something that runs at startup.

Leaving all the services alone, I can remove them and they stay gone until I reboot. Not sure about logging off/logging on as I'm the only user on this machine, but that could do it too.

    Maybe that helps pinpoint this...

OK, so after more experimentation, I can confirm that the library entries are recreated when launching the OneDrive.exe itself.

    Seems to be in %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive

There are a bunch of settings in there... might be worth playing around with.

Never had any issues with it before this. What's even stranger is that I removed the built-in Windows 10 app using steps I found on another site, then downloaded the Windows 7/8 installer and ran it, it instantly "upgraded" right back to the same built-in version.

I like OneDrive, I like having synced files, I just don't want it adding itself to my library every time I boot...

Anyone feel like playing around with those config files?
