Some settings are managed by your organization. No Desktop Background.

In Windows 10, in Personalization > Background, I have red text that says, Some settings are managed by your organization, and all desktop background features are greyed out and inaccessible. What does this mean and how do I get the desktop background function back?

Please note: All other Personalization options are accessible, including: Colors, Lock screen, Themes (although they do not work once I go into them), and Start.

All I have for a desktop background, is the last wallpaper I used, which is now permanently locked as my desktop background.

Try running GPEDIT.msc and make sure all of the items are configured as "not configured"

I get an error saying, Windows can not find gpedit.msc. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again, when I enter it into run. Is there another way to access gpedit.msc?

After solving that problem with this: Windows Cannot find Gpedit.msc Windows 7/8/8.1 - Fixed

Everything in gpedit.msc under: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Desktop and Control Panel is configured as "Not configured", so that clearly doesn't work for this problem.

This problem feels like it has something to do with Microsoft accounts and how they set them up in Windows 10, but as to why they would eliminate the use of desktop backgrounds for any reason is beyond me.

I would rather guess that your video drivers aren't updated for Windows 10. Try finding one from ASUS Website

Do you think it's Nvidia's latest driver 353.62 for Windows 10 that came out on July 29th, that's doing it? I did install the new driver right before this notification happened in desktop backgrounds, but whether or not the events coincide, I don't know. The latest driver at Asus is from 2013, so I'd sooner use the last known good driver that I was using on Windows 7 a few days ago, than that one.

I'm not sure since mine works fine and has no restrictions at all. I'm not using an Nvidia graphics though.

I think I just have to reinstall Windows 10. Long night for me.
