I thought it would be fun to reply to this thread, as I do things a little differently. I don't own a "Smart Phone" I own a "Smarter Tablet Phone" LOL
I use a Chuwi Hi10 quad core 4 gigabyte of ram, (1 TB USB 3.0 drive) Windows 10 10 inch Tablet with headphones and mic. The "phone" part is comprised of a free phone number I got through Google Voice and a dialer that works through google hangouts from any web browser. Yes, I do have to stay within range of a Wifi signal but I have that pretty much everywhere I go. The sound quality is excellent with no or very little delay. I can call anywhere in the USA for free with unlimited time. I can also receive phone calls to that number nationwide for free with no time restrictions. - just like a real phone as long as I have wifi.. And, I can play Skyrim at the same time.. now thats a Plus. LOL
Of course I use free wifi or my home wifi I already pay for BUT For 15 bucks a month I can add my tablet to AT&T's nationwide network with a wifi dongle. I'd get 250 MB of data per month and that would give me about 7.5 hours of call time. Most people have short conversations so I think that 15 bucks a month would serve me well. Thats how you get a cheap powerful phone folks. LOL
