To avoid another 20 pages/194 replies, or 32pages/316 replies, locking the thread might be the acceptable choice of 2 evils.

Hmm, that can't be it. Forums are a place where opposing opinions are being exchanged. If you now want to control the dosage, then something is wrong There seems to be a hidden agenda. But I don't know which.

I take it more as an announcement rather than a debatable thingy, good for me as I have nothing yet to offer/add as to any discussion about it.

In my perspective, the Windows 10 News sub-forum is to keep members up to date with the current news. Nothing else.

There is another sub-forum with the title General Support under which it says ...........Windows 10 general discussion and support.
It is the only sub-forum with the word " discussion " attached. As such, discussions should be restricted to that venue.
Let the rest of the sub-forums ( excluding Chillout Room and VIP sub-forums ) dedicated to solving members' computer issues and nothing else.

That thread isn't closed, if it was it was probably by mistake.

They only get closed after too many cleanups from people getting out of hand usually.

Thanks Derek. This is strange though. When I posted this message it was closed. Someone reopened it. It is OK now.
