I got a new monitor over xmas which is an Asus VP248QG which is only HD with Freesync @ 75Hz but needed to bring some 30fps locked games up to 74fps (locked frame rate for 75hz) & made a vertical stand for both of my monitors which is rock solid & screwed down to my table.

Not 1 bit of movement left or right & the Vesa mounts are removable & can make different ones for different monitors will be making them adjustable up/down (tilt) so the angle is correct to my line of vision.

The wood is MDF & it will be painted black once I aquire some paint.

What a great idea, I made a similar one out of metal but didn't use it yet as I'm waiting for spring to use with new desk. Only difference is that my top monitor is for security cameras.

I used to install security cameras around the mid 2005 time most of the TV screens were CRT & had the grid burned in on the screen, I am not sure if that happens with new led TV's but the Samsung TV I have has spent loads of time on desktop but no burning on screen - the only thing I have noticed with screens it the backlight bleed through once the monitors get warm, but if the desktop is not black you do not see it.

Yes, But you have to buy a separate cable that plugs right into the back of your videocard.
