OK, I asked your opinion because I wanted to know how other people think. When I came home from the city tonight, a neighbor who is the vice chairperson in our house board was waiting me, the house bylaws in two sheets of paper in her hands, telling me that the snowman is clearly Christmas decoration which is only allowed in common areas from last Sunday in November to the Sunday following January 6th, and it therefore is unauthorized and must be removed as it is already February.

I told her that's winter, not Christmas decoration. Will be interesting to see does the snowman disappear, I will not take it away!

My HOA thought they could come on my property and change what they did not like. They thought if we broke a rule they could put a lien on our homes. We couldn't take out a dead bush or repair a badly crack section of the sidewalk without permission. I got it stopped, they were distorting the covenants. I also found a lawyer who work for covenant boards. He read the covenants and he laughed saying "it says in two place you can change anything that was there when you bought the home with out permission".

Take the snowman away...and put some reindeer in it's place! Tell them it is in honor of your homeland! Too be honest, I would have been tempted to tell her where she could put the snowman! Grrr.
