    Recipe Thread..

Since some of us love to cook I thought a thread containing some of our favorite recipes would be fun to have.

One of mine that I concocted today:
    Shepard's Pie:
    Ingredients:
    2 LB Ground Beef
    1 LB Ground Buffalo/Bison
    Beef Gravy
    Mushrooms
    Corn: Frozen
    Onion Diced
    Salt/pepper
    Paprika
Essence – Emeril Lagasse seasoning mix – Find at stores.
    Garlic Powder
    Potatoes
    Milk
    Butter
    Sour Cream
    Garlic Powder
    Cheddar Cheese - Sharp

    Mash:
    Boil Potatoes
    Mash and add:

    1. Butter, milk and sour cream

    Meat/Filling:
    Brown meat
    Add salt/pepper/garlic powder/essence
    Dice onion and add
    Add peas
    Finally add gravy and mushrooms

Layer backing pan .. meat mix, mash and top with cheese.
Brown under broiler till cheese gooey.

    Eat with nice salad.

All you have to do is roast a nice chuck roast and follow the rest of the recipe.. it shouldn't be that hard from then on.

Yep...i used some flank steak and cut that into chunks...and used beef fat filler that i use for my ground venison to make the UK version of dumplings instead of cooking suet......Didn't use the swede ingredient, couldn't find it...talked to Bob/wolfeymole and he said they never use that either..

I think I will have a go at making these, they sound like a savoury version of our English scone.

May I ask vger is there any reason you prefer to use vodka rather than milk or is that how you always make them?

I made snickerdoodles yesterday which are similar to an english scone but what your probably classify as a biscuit.
Here is a turorial for you to have a look at Snickerdoodles.
They are made with nutmeg, cinnamon and nuts and are a lovely treat especially with a pot of tea.

I'm more of a sweet baker than savoury but I want to try out more savoury bakes.
