Windows 10 Build 11000 Alphabet Editions

As some of you know already, Microsoft has two limited editions of every version of Windows available, the Windows N and KN versions. The N editions come without Windows Media Features (read: Windows Media Player), and the KN is the same but for Korean market where authorities require a few desktop shortcuts to be added in Windows.

In addition there's already a third "alphabet" edition of Windows available, the Windows K edition which is for Korean market adding the same shortcuts as KN edition but comes with Windows Media Player.

Those having an N or KN edition can install the missing media features for free from Download Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 from Official Microsoft Download Center.

This in their mind, Microsoft has now decided to expand this idea, offer limited editions of Windows in larger scale to please those users who have been complaining about native Windows applications they do not need. As you can read on these forums of ours and around the Interwebs, some users complain about Skype being now included in Windows 10 starting from Build 10565, other users complaining about why Paint is natively installed taking HD space when they use GIMP or PhotoShop, why Mail app is included when the user already uses Thunderbird, and so on.

Geeks, your misery will soon be over! Starting from Build 11000 Microsoft will release Windows 10 Alphabet Editions:

• Windows 10 A Edition
  
  • Without Alarms & Clock for those who already have an alarm clock
  
  
• Windows 10 B Edition
  
  • Without Backup & File History for those who already use Macrium
  
  
• Windows 10 C Edition
  
  • Without Calculator for those who already have calculator in their smartphones

And so on, an Alphabet Edition for every need.

You can also combine the Alphabet Editions, for instance if you want Windows 10 Pro without Backup and Skype you would need to get Windows 10 Pro BS Edition, and accordingly a user who needs Windows 10 Home but does not want Paint, WordPad, Media Player, Insider Hub and Maps apps would need to install Windows 10 Home PWNIM Edition.

With this move Microsoft finally acknowledges the fact that users are right demanding that each and every user around the globe should get Windows exactly as they want it, that the policy to release a complete operating system to cater the needs of the general public has been wrong.

Correct. The W edition will be just a command prompt and is according to a leaked MS internal memo intended for those users who prefer to do everything manually. According to this memo the MS internal codename for Edition W is "I don't need GUI, I am a pro".

First leaked screenshot reveal that it will look the same as the last version of MS-DOS did:

Yes, it really looks they have listened the uses now. I am keenly waiting the Windows 10 Enterprise T.I.N.H.A.T edition ISO image to leak, I am interested in testing it. It comes without Task Manager, Insider Hub, Media features, Home button in IE, Alarms & Clock and Task Scheduler.
