    Do you read books/ebooks?

    Morning/Afternoon/Evening

What's your favourite type of books and do you prefer paper or electronic

For me I am a big fan of Stephen King & Dean Koontz, great writers and always look forward to getting the new books each year, these ones for me have to be the hardback cover edition

All my other reading is done via Kobo or Kindle, I have the apps on my Windows Phone, PC & Android tablet, usual with these I go for budget books, detective stories or zombie ones can be quite entertaining at time, I just skim through the on offer ebooks at both sites and look for something interesting

What type do others like, and what is your preferred format?

I read a lot, mostly real printed books but also the occasional ebook. Big fan of adventure stuff like Clive Cussler. Other authors I read are Dean Koontz, James Herbert, Dick Francis, Steve Berry, etc. I also read a mix of languages, mostly English (widely available) but also German and Afrikaans.

Currently I am reading two powerlifting training books: Brian Carroll's 10/20/Life and Andy Bolton's Deadlift Dynamite.

I used to read a lot but not as much now. My attention span is very poor.
I do read e-books on programing languages. Python, Java, C++ and Groovy

I haven't read a paper book in over four years. With my Kindle Reader I see no reason to pay for an over priced paper back or even hard back book.

    Authors that I read:
    Lee Childs
Preston Douglas with Lincoln Childs or both separately
    Clive Clusser
    David Baldicci
    Jeffery Deaver
    Robert Ludlam
among about twenty others. . .

I read voraciously. Being retired gives me a lot more time for reading.

I vastly prefer e-books over dead tree books. They take up less room to store, weight pretty much nothing (like, how heavy are "electrons"?), and are easier to organize and handle. An e-book reader will fit easily fit in my purse and can hold dozens to thousands of books so I'm never without reading material wherever I am. I can even read e-books off my TV screen.

Ebooks can be backed up to avoid loss whereas dead tree books are hard to backup and are easily destroyed. I've been gradually cutting apart my huge library of dead tree books and scanning them to PDFs.

Couple of "Libraries" I go to for free books:
    Free e-books
Online Book Catalog - Overview - Project Gutenberg
    If somebody is interested in.

Public libraries also lend out ebooks right? I remember my wife asked me to download an ebook from the library website and put it on her kindle.

I used to read actual books but since getting my Kindle find it a lot easier. I don't have to find room to store them and because it's in a holder I can have it propped up and still read hands free.
Most of my reading is family saga type covering the late 1800's to early 1900's.

    Catherine Cookson
    Josephine Cox
    Janet MacLeod Trotter
    Anna Jacobs
    Meg Richardson etc.

I'll look for free books but most of the books I read don't cost much anyway, the others I found really good are by James Bowen, Street Cat named Bob and the follow on ones.
