Lunch. Absolutely gorgeous weather here. How about you guys?

Pic of the jobsite. Turns out the roofers touched a steel tear off bar across the electrical leads at the mask head. Within an instant in melted wires together to start the fire. Roof looks nice though.

Are the roofer's paying to have all the damage repaired ?

Sounds like what HG is saying is where the power leads come form the power pole the roofers crossed the wires with a metal bar those wires do not have a breaker other than the fuse on the power pole. Many Many watts available to vaporize #004 wire about the size of your little finger.

There's three wires that feed a house. Two hots and a neutral. The bare neutral (ground) wire, which they use as the "hang" wire is attached to the house from the utility pole with a hook. All three then travel into a pipe with a certain head on it. It's all known as a mast. The wires are spliced between the hook and the head with clamps that sometimes are bare. They must've touched those those two clamps with a steel roofing tear off bar. IOW a big short in the wires. We're talking 100 amps each wire.

100 amps, each wire? At 115-120? Or 240? Good Lord!
