OK, here's an example what a divorce does for a man.
I have pretty much given up almost all normal social activities, putting people on my Blocked Numbers list on the phone, not going out other than meet the docs and lawyers and such. In fact my only two social gatherings in the last half a year have been two meetings of the international ex-pat community in my home town.
This also means that "small things" like shaving and combing your hair or cut it get forgotten for not not being important; it's the same how you look if you stay home alone.
Anyway, sometimes an outsider needs to point out some things like last week me my lawyer seeing me first on Wednesday looking like this:
He told me that when we have to go to meet some authorities on Friday, he really wishes that I would not look like that. Personally I think the more I cover of my face, the better, but had to obey the lawyer. Here's the same man in the same place an hour later last Friday:

Definitely an improvement Kari, by the look of the first you are letting yourself go. We know that divorce is painful but it's no excuse to turn into a scruffy looking hermit.
You should start to go out and socialise again, you'll feel a lot better. :)

after having been quite active in the topical part of the forums for some time now i finally made it to the chillout area which seems quite a place to settle in for a moment.
since i didnt post any big hello and also am no friend of mistaken/overdone kindness or posting big (or even small) welcomes online (just for the sake of saying hello) i will just combine that with posting a picture in this thread so i am done with it

that's me with some work companions (had to black them out though) and an older picture from when i was still a little more "tech-hungry" than i am nowadays. yes it is the same facility!
