BSOD Thread not being answered? Here's why...

    information   Information
To debug crash dump files analysts need to download symbols from Microsoft to be able to analyse each individual dump file. While Windows 10 is still in Preview flights most symbols are unavailable.

If you're wondering why your BSOD thread isn't receiving any answers don't worry, you're not being ignored. As it stands at the moment the required symbols needed for debugging Windows 10 crash dump files are unavailable, this makes debugging nigh on impossible. A typical readout from WinDBG is posted below:

    Code:
    Loading User Symbols

************* Symbol Loading Error Summary **************
    Module name Error
ntoskrnl The system cannot find the file specified

You can troubleshoot most symbol related issues by turning on symbol loading diagnostics (!sym noisy) and repeating the command that caused symbols to be loaded.
You should also verify that your symbol search path (.sympath) is correct.

When Windows 10 goes RTM the required symbols will presumably be available, I have asked Microsoft when they will be available but have yet to receive an answer. So please don't think you're being ignored, you're not! And as soon as the symbols are available we'll be here to help you solve your BSODs.

They're still not working for me, just tested a couple of dumps and am still getting the same readouts as in Post #1.

OK, it seems that dumps created in build 10240 are working, any dumps created prior to 10240 still don't work. Looks like I'm all set.
