    Computer runs in slow motion

My computer has been experiencing intermittent periods of what I can only describe as slow-motion. It has only happened while I've been playing video games, rocket league to be specific, and it does not self-resolve until I restart.

I followed some instruction in this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...-graphics.html which led me to the verifier.exe program. After running that and restarting, I got a BSOD with the code DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Here is the log for the crash:Attachment 103595.

I've been monitoring my temps and nothing seems out of the ordinary there. Also, my CPU is under normal load at all times, even while in 'slow motion'. I built this computer a little over a year ago and only started having this problem for about a week. The only changes I can think of would be that I re-enabled windows store using powershell commands. (I had disabled everything that I don't use a while ago and never had any issues until now)

    Specs:
    Windows 10 64bit
    i5-6500 3.20GHz water cooled
    EVGA GTX 970 4gb (3.5gb)
    8gb RAM
    Gigabyte Z170-Gaming-X mobo

EDIT: It self-resolved once while playing. I didn't do anything to fix it and i'm not sure why it fixed itself. None of my temps changed and I was monitoring CPU load with task manager, no change there either.

    Hi JakeIsSlowMo,

Apologies for the delay, do you still need help?

I haven't had the issue since making the post but at the same time I haven't done anything to correct it. So if there is any information you see that might be helpful I'd love to have it.
    Thanks!

The only information I can provide currently is that the crash look to be caused by the ASMedia controller driver.
The usual suggestion is to check for driver updates, but if the problem hasn't yet occured again I personally wouldn't yet do it.
    Code:
    0: kd> lmvm asstor64
    Browse full module list
    start end module name
    fffff809`c2350000 fffff809`c2368000 asstor64 (deferred)
        Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\asstor64.sys
        Image name: asstor64.sys
Browse all global symbols functions data

That's good to know. If it happens again I'll try checking for an update and post back here as solved. Thanks!

Just happened again. Resolved once I closed back out of rocket league but came back after a few seconds. Gonna try the driver fix

Updated ASMedia driver from my mobo website. Chose the 'repair' option since I believe the driver was still the same. Restarted and will post back if any issues/will post solved in a week if no issues.

EDIT: Still happened. It resolved itself without closing rocket league or making any other changes. I'm gonna try the verifier.exe again

Ran verifier.exe and realized that the last time I didn't enable any of the standard settings. So far after a few restarts no BSOD but the issue still persists. Checking for firmware/BIOS updates for my mobo. Also trying to fix any issues with rocket league files since the issue only occurs when that program is running/was ran recently

Only other thing I could think of is maybe my PSU is dying? It's an old one from an old build and maybe it's starting to give less juice when loaded

What PSU do you have and how old is it?

Corsair TX650W bought and installed in July 2009. Been through 3 different builds with it so it might be time for a new one
