BSOD File: Werkernel.sys Error Code: 0xc000007b

Sorry, this is going to be kind of long.

Hey, so two days ago when I went to turn off my laptop, I got a Windows update, so I let it update and all that while I went to work, and then when I came home from work, expecting my laptop to be turned off I found that it was still on, but frozen. So I just force turned it off, thinking that everything would be okay. And then a few hours later when I went to go turn it on, I received a BSOD, with the error code: 0xc000007b and file: werkernel.sys.

I spent a total of 14 hrs so far looking for answers through Google and various forums, hoping that someone had the same issue and was resolved. But whenever I saw one that is related and says that it solved, I try the solution on my laptop and it still doesn't work. I even spent $26 on a program I was hoping would work, but it didn't. I don't really want to have to reinstall Windows 10, since I upgraded it while it was free and I'm not sure I can reinstall it for free or if I have to buy it.

I have downloaded Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft, tried startup repair, I don't have a restore point to restore too, which is the first thing I'll do once this is fixed, so I couldn't do the restore point, I have tried multiple bootrec commands, so far nothing has worked.

    Additional Info:
I am running Windows 10, I've had my laptop for about 3 years now, I updated to Windows 10 when it came out, so it's not anything from upgrading to Windows 10, I am pretty sure it has something to do with that Windows update the other day though. If you need any other information about my pc, I will gladly give it to you. I have ordered a repair guy to come in and fix my laptop on Saturday for $100 for 30min, which I can cancel at anytime, so I would rather find a solution to this than spend a few hundred dollars on something that probably isn't that complex to fix.

    Thanks

    Hi LucidTruth,

I'm sorry for the huge delay, currently I'm busy with studies and exams so I don't have a lot of time anymore.

Do you still need help with your problem?
