What the event logs say: 45min after waking from sleep the system reinitialized everything after an improper restart.

What keyboard are you currently using? There are some Windows Error Reports about the keyboard.

That is right, when I am not at the PC I put it to sleep. I put it to sleep about 2-3 times today before it crashed.

I am using the replacement keyboard as suggested. The model is A4Tech KB-720. I started using this one 3-4 days back.

I don't have much time for research currently so I'm going to ask if the keyboard is using a by Windows installed drivers or did you install the drivers?

The keyboards (old and new) worked out of the box so I am using Windows drivers.

At the expense of looking stupid I want to mention that even though I had disconnected the previous keyboard's receiver (the wireless one), I just noticed that someone had reconnected the receiver to my front USB panel.
I was not using that keyboard though, however I cant be sure that the freeze was not related to this. I have removed the receiver and asked the person not to reconnect it. I will continue testing with the new keyboard again and report back in case something happens.

    Sorry for the trouble!

No problem, better safe and mention something relevant than hiding something because it is 'stupid' :)

    Yes, I agree.

The PC just froze again :/
No BSOD, just froze while in game. Tried alt+tab, showed the other apps but never switched to them. Tried ctrl+alt+del, didnt work. After a couple more tries with alt+tab, the screen went black but the cursor was visible and movable. Had to hold the power button and then start again.

    What should I try next?

That sounds like a TDR issue

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Be sure to install as less as possible software using custom/advanced options, you can use this tutorial for the installation part AMD Graphics Drivers - Install Without Catalyst Install Manager - Windows 7 Help Forums

I did as listed, ran DDU in safe mode, rebooted and installed only the driver without catalyst etc.

I would like to report that after running DDU and booting in to normal mode the PC froze again ie only cursor could be moved. This was before the driver install. I had to kill the power and start it up again and then I installed the driver. Restarted it after the install. I am not sure if this is of importance but I thought of posting it because it froze in a similar fashion even after the driver was removed.
