Random BSOD's, ntoskrnl.exe / driver related?

Instead of SeaTools you could use Samsung Magician :)

I only have the option to run a benchmark, which runs fine and reports no problems.

The software doesn't report any S.M.A.R.T info or health status. Unless that is an indication of a problem, the drive seems to perform correctly.

Unfortunately I have seen it many times that drives looking to perform correctly without any sign of a problem still cause the problem. In those situations a next step was to cleanly install the OS, after backing up everything, and only check Windows Updates for updates and update Windows Defender. If it in such situations would still crash it is safe to call the drive as the cause.

All of the above stands true, I'm afraid. Pretty much exhausted all possibilities: Re-installed several times from different sources, tried Win8.1, with & without updating, different drivers, recovery... still BSOD.

I guess there are no two ways about it, something inside is messed up. Thanks to everyone who contributed here, I'll mark the thread as solved once I get the final word from VAIO.
