    BSOD After Closing 3ds Max

    Hi all,

I'm getting a BSOD every time I close 3ds Max. Memory dump says nvlddmkm.sys. I did a complete uninstall and install of 372.54 graphics driver. Disabled Nvidia streaming service which I have read can cause problems. Neither helped. I'll try running memory and GPU tests later.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi axe0,

3ds Max 2017 is now working properly. I don't know exactly what fixed it but thanks for your help!

3ds Max 2015 still causes BSOD so I'm guessing some files were corrupted during this mess. It's no longer needed so I'll just uninstall.

In case anyone somehow runs into this specific problem again and finds this thread, I was able to finally pinpoint the exact cause.

I had installed a plugin and its network license service on the same computer. So when 3ds Max closed it would try to release the license and cause the BSOD. After installing the license service on a different machine as it's intended, everything works. Nothing else changed. It makes no sense to me.
