Try just A2. If fail, try same module in B2, ven though it's not the recommended slot. Trying to see if you have a bad A2 memory slot on the main board.

They both still produced errors unfortunately.

Where do you stand as far as ScpVbus.sys and removing or updating the controller driver?

Ok, good. I can't figure out what's going on with your RAM though.

At this point, lets see what happens tomorrow when the Anniversary update is released. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will fix your problem.

Anniversary update has been released. Windows Update is slows making it available so use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to update, create a flash drive or iso.

Click on the Download tool now button.

After several attempts to get the right version of Windows 10 Education, and a couple of installer BSODs later, I have finally clean installed to the Windows 10 Anniversary update.

So far, the only program that caused appcrash c0000005 was backgroundTaskHost.exe, and only twice so far. I will continue to wait around and see if any other programs continue to crash with the same error.

In a somewhat unrelated matter, is there any way to move the pagefile to my hard drive only and still be able to create memory dumps, or do I have to have the pagefile on C: in order to do that?

Been testing the stability of the OS, and so far, no appcrash c0000005; not even GTA V is appcrashing.

My backup drive no longer seems to be recognized as of yesterday though. I'll figure that one out on my own some other time. A couple of OS components also froze up a bit a couple of times, but I'm pretty sure that's normal after a release (or at least seems to be the case; I did run sfc and dism, but they both found no problems, or somehow fixed it without notifying me about it).

For now, I'll mark this issue as solved. Thank you for helping me with this problem.
