    Hard-freeze after Win10 upgrade

    Hi all,

You were all so helpful in getting me through my last Win10 experience that I decided to give it another go :)

I just finished upgrading my kids' PC from Win7 to Win10, and since the upgrade the system has been hard-freezing -- no responsiveness from mouse or keyboard, screen frozen in place.

I'd heard that there may be issues with USB drivers (since the motherboard is fairly old), so I reinstalled the latest from Gigabyte earlier today, but no dice.

Any advice would as always be appreciated! Thanks in advance,

Dump points to a kernel file, definitely not the problem.

You have some really old drivers on this computer:

    Code:
    2006/09/05 02:10:02 AM \??\C:\Windows\GVTDrv64.sys
    2008/09/24 01:28:20 PM C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\SiSRaid2.sys
    2008/10/01 04:56:04 PM C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\sisraid4.sys
    2009/03/12 10:22:29 PM \??\C:\Windows\gdrv.sys

GVTDrv64.sys and gdrv.sys belong to Gigabyte Technologies, the maker of your system board.

Try updating the Chipset and SATA AHCI driver: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3+ - GA-78LMT-S2 (rev. 1.1)
