Blackscreen and no reaction at all

    Hi,

I have a big problem with my PC.
At the moment it is not possible to use my pc. Directly after login the screen went black and even pressing the "Num" key dosn't make changes on the keyboard. Normally it should change the LED for the numpad but that didn't work.
i have to restart the pc with long pressing the powerbutton.

The hardware ist checkt several times. And in the Windows-Safe-Mode it will run.
I think there is a problem with the ATI driver.

If I cleaning the ATI driver and reinstall the newest one, the problem returns.

I need my pc for my Mastertheses but at the moment I'm at a point to throw this pc outside the window.

    Maybe you can help me.

    Thanks and greetings.
P.S.: I found the ERROR in the Windows problemreport.

Given your description it is possible that your GPU has become faulty/failing, it sounds like it at least.

A question, what PSU do you have?

    Hi and Welcome,

In de msinfo file i can find hardware thats being marked as troublesome:
    Code:
If i understand the few words of german (i also speak a Germanic language, so words do look a like) its saying that the device is not functioning correctly or that it can't load something (i'm guessing the drivers).

I'm not saying this is the cause, but its at the very least worth looking into.
Do you actively use Hyper-V ?

Your dumpfiles point to ati drivers.

When you re-installed the driver, did you use DDU to do this? If not, try to use DDU (run is in safemode, the tool will ask you to do this for you) and later on reinstall your drivers. Download them from

    R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5 | Graphics Cards | ASUS Global

I say this because in the dxdiag.txt it says:

    [code]
    ---------------
    Display Devices
    ---------------
Card name: Microsoft Basic Display Driver
    Manufacturer:
    Chip type:
    DAC type:
    Device Type: Display-Only Device
    Device Key: Enum\ROOT\BASICDISPLAY
    Display Memory: 4061 MB
    Dedicated Memory: 0 MB
    Shared Memory: 4061 MB
    Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (64Hz)

it does not say "ATI ..." So the installation might have gone wrong.

    Hi Axe0,

I've looked at the CPU specs, it has no GPU Module

    Intel Processor E3-1230 v3 (8M Cache, 3.30 GHz) Specifications

    Graphics Specifications
    Processor Graphics ‡ None

So it could mean that the GPU is not at fault right ?

    edit:

further explanation: if GPU would be defect, shouldn't he be having more visible troubles ? Like flickering lines eg.

@axe0: The PSU is a Thermalteke wit h850W, I think this should be enough
@zztemp: No at the moment I didn't use Hyper-V, I will deactivate it.
And yes I had used DDU, but I will do it again and install the driver.
    Hope this will help :)

OK the PC boots and I'm in Windows. Dxdiag now say that i is a ATI Radeon. Maybe it was the hyper v.
I will test the system later, because now I eat something and go to the cinema, Batman vs Superman
Thx for your help and I hope the problem is solved.

You can find the GPU in the msinfo32.nfo file, I cannot read german but it is straight forward to me since I've gone through it numerous of times.

A GPU defect can cause various of display problems, it doesn't have to be only a flickering but it could also be a black screen after some time.

I say this because in the dxdiag.txt it says:

If I understand the description of the problem correct, the OP had used the DM Log Collector in safe mode, in normal mode couldn't because of the display problem. Running the DM Log Collector in safe mode changes some data in the files.
