Devices have different specs, hence the reason why they are different, 1 will act different on something than another, 1 will crash on something while another will run without problems.
Even if you buy 2 devices of the exact same specs, they are different because somewhere there are differences.
Have you already installed Windows 7?
If you haven't, do you get the troubleshooting options? The troubleshooting options should show after 3 failures of boot.
Too bad to hear, we may could have found a solution, but glad to hear your system is up and running :)
The 0x124(WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR) is known as a hardware error, Windows Hardware Error Architecture is where the WHEA stands for, but could also be caused by the BIOS and drivers. Make sure that you check the drivers and BIOS for updates compatible for Windows 7.
Drivers were most likely the cause, software also uses drivers what means that 1 or more programs were giving problems.
However the best known programs that could let the system think the problem is hardware related is pre-installed software from the (motherboard for desktops) manufacturers and software like Daemon tools and Alcohol 120% because the drivers are usually improper written and thus not stable.
