Windows 10 BSOD's - Driver problem or Hardware failure?

    Hey there,

Ive been having blue screens for quite a while now and been trying to fix them myself but Ive decided it might be easier with some assistance.

Ive ran memtest86+ for a whole day and found no errors.
I ran prime95 and furmark for a couple of hours with no errors.

Ive also tried using Driver Verifier a long while back and removed any drivers that i saw causing problems but it still persisted. I was going to try Driver Verifier again but while i do that i thought it'd be wise to see if anyone can see something obvious or offer some assistance.

    My debug file is attached.
    [Removed]

    Thanks.

    Diagnostics Test

     HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
    Run following tests

    3. Long generic

If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.
    Note   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Thanks for the assistance, i did all those tests.

So i have a Western Digital Green 2TB HDD and a OCZ Vertex 4 SSD.

SeaTools came back with a Pass for the HDD on all tests.

chkdsk found no errors on either the HDD or SSD.

    HDTune came back with:

    Error checks
    Attachment 67760Attachment 67761

    Health
    Attachment 67765Attachment 67766

    Benchmark
    Attachment 67767Attachment 67768

    Thanks again for your help.

To make the file system scan part a bit more complete

    Diagnostics Test

     System File Check

    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Ok, just thought i should update anyone who reads the thread with what seemed to be the problem.

Simply, it was RAM. I didn't believe it to be true, i ran Memtest86 so many times in so many different configurations and found not one error. So i decided to test parts by swapping them with parts from another computer starting with the RAM and lo and behold it worked perfectly. The RAM i tested with was the same type by the way so it was'nt a compatibility issue.

This is a lesson that Memtest is not always reliable, test your RAM in conjunction with Memtest by replacing it if you have some spare RAM around.

    Thanks for the help axe0.

Software tests aren't 100% proof, running a test doesn't rule it out 100% unfortunately.

Glad to hear your problem is solved :)
