    Having multiple BSODs, verifying if my conclusion is correct


    Hi there!

    As the title suggests, I've been experiencing multiple BSODs both before and after upgrading to Windows 10. This computer is fairly new, so I'm beginning to think it has something to do with a certain component - in my case, the RAM. As I don't diagnose BSODs often, I'm not sure, so I'm hoping to come here for some help on what to do, what steps to take, or how to explain my situation more clearly.

    Basically, every now and then, I'm met with a black screen upon restart. There are times when it boots perfectly fine, and everything is normal, but sometimes on boot it'll just be a black screen where no amount of time will cause it to progress. As well, at random times during my session on the machine, I'm met with several different BSODs, these three being in recent recollection:

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE ,and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

    Upon looking these up, I figured I'd post on this forum a help request, wherein making an account I had to put in my computer's specs. I brought up Speccy to let me know, and it told me "RAM 16.00 Unknown @ 1066 Mhz", where I'm supposed to have a Corsair Vengeance LPX. I now assume that my RAM is what is causing the problem, but I'm not sure what steps to take from here. I have posted my log for additional reference.

    Many of the crashes were unable to create a minidump what explains why there is only 1 dump present.
    Please run tests below.
    With MemTest86 you need to pay for some functions.
    I'm not sure if you need to pay to reach my suggested passes, if you do stop the test.

    Run MemTest86+ and MemTest86 - Offical Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

    MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

    Well, good news and bad news there.

    I ran the memtest and it all went well. There were 0 errors the entire time. Only problem is that it was analyzing 12gb of Memory, when I have a 16gb chip inside. Is that an issue? Perhaps it's not. I'm honestly not sure. I half-wish my BSODs were more frequent so I could tell if it was still happening, as I have not had any in the past day.

    Ohhh. I need to do the whole thing over that many passes. Sorry - I thought I read "tests". I'll get that done over the next day or so.

    Well, after trying another test for 3 hours, looks like 1 is indeed the most it'll go to. It reached this point at about the 2hr mark, and stayed like this until I figured it wasn't going any further. Still no errors though - Only that 12gb is what is recognized on the 16gb hardware.

    EDIT: I also just experienced another crash. This time it didn't have a BSOD, just a straight up freeze in the middle of watching a video on YouTube. Those happen sometimes as well.

    Keep MemTest86 running for some hours, best to keep it running overnight.
    With your amount of memory I wouldn't expect it to be very fast.
