ok so restored defaults, all it seemed to do was make removable drive bootable #1 and hdd#2 but i did then boot into windows.

So trying to update nvstor.sys, the link just sends me to a tweak bit site which wants me to pay to download drivers. Is that what you intended ?

Nvidia site just tells me to down load graphics drivers which i'd already done.

So how do I get the latest sata driver? am I being thick?

What site do you mean exactly?
The link should send you to a site that gives you the link from Nvidia to download the driver.

I normally don't suggest this, but in device manager check from there for driver updates.
It should be in storage controllers if I am correct.

device manager just says its up to date.

Edge seems to have taken your word 'driver' and turned it into a link to a dodgy driver tool. ( this is clean install of win10 so it must be edge doing it !!).

The link you actually gave doesnt go to a driver far as I can see just a file name and a link to NVidia which only shows me graphics drivers. anywhere else I can get it?

In the graphics drivers package, there are more drivers you can install including the sata driver.
You'll need to use custom/advanced installation to install the right drivers.

thanks for trying to help, but there are no storage drivers in anything I've downloaded. GPU, Sound and 3d vision yes, nothing storage related. I've even tried downloading GeForce experience but that just says its up to date. Custom (Advanced) really just gives me the option of not installing 3d vision stuff.

There must be somewhere I can get them from but even google just points me back to the generic NVidia page.

    Getting a bit desperate now.

Have you checked your mainboard manufacturer for the drivers?
