    BSOD during regular use

I've been getting frequent BSODs when doing normal things like browsing the web in google chrome and not when doing more intensive tasks like playing games. The errors all seemed to reference some memory issues so I ran memtest86+ for 8 passes and got no errors. I also uninstalled the soft ether vpn driver that was referenced in one of my earlier crash dumps.

After I removed the driver the number of BSODs has gone down but I'm still getting some.

I ran the DM Log Collector 5 times and restarted my PC/ re-downloaded the exe and the zip file was never created even though the tool ran. I used the SF Diagnostic tool instead and was able to get that to work. I've attached the results to this post.

    Thank you!

Please run the DM Log Collector tool again, there are quite some files missing.
Before uploading, check if the content is at least
    • 19 .txt,
    • 1 .nfo

If not, boot in safe mode and try it again.

Ok I think I know what was happening. I moved all the My Documents and Downloads and Desktop folders off my SSD to save space and it looks like the log collector won't put the files in the desktop on my HDD. I was able to locate the zip and it looks like it has all the files.

    Sorry about that!

    A 0x3B(SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION) with
    Code:
    Probably caused by : memory_corruption
    and a 0x12B(FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE) with
    Code:
    Probably caused by : hardware
tells me the memory is causing problems
A 0x12B is usually caused by memory.
A 0x3B with memory corruption could mean that a driver stored data in the memory, when the data is requested it is corrupted.
It could also mean that a driver tried to store data in invalid memory but then a driver would have been flagged usually.
Please test your memory using MemTest86+
    Please read the instructions carefully.

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

    Note   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

I already said in my original post that I ran memtest 86+ for 8 passes and got 0 errors. It took about 16 hours and I followed the instructions by the letter on this forum. I saw the probably caused by errors and I posted here because they seem to contradict with the memtest results.

    Must have missed that part.
You have also checked for the frequency and voltage of the memory in the BIOS?

'Hardware' could also indicate the hard drive, as another possible cause

Thanks! I'll check the hard drives. I haven't checked the frequency and voltage of the memory. How do I do that? What am I looking for?

Boot to the BIOS and check the voltage value and frequency value of the RAM, note them and let me know what they are.
I can't be more specific, the BIOS of every manufacturer mainboard is different.

I checked both hard drives and they passed check disk and I ran all the tests it let me on SeaTool. I didn't get any errors. I also filled in my system specs.

The Memory frequency in my BIOS is set to 1600 mHZ and the DDR voltage is 1.5V. Does that sound right?

    Those values are right :)
Please read the instructions for driver verifier carefully

    Diagnostic Test

     DRIVER VERIFIER

    warning   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
    Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

    Note   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.
