SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION when searching in start menu

I am using Windows 10 with all updates installed. It is basically working just fine, but sometimes, somewhat seldom I am getting a bluescreen. The situation when this happens always is more or less comparable:

I am using Classic Shell as a replacement for the start menu.

I have the Firefox browser (current version) open and a few tabs have been used. Everything is fine.

Then I decide that I want to search something on the PC. I hit the Windows button, which opens the start menu from Classic Shell. Then I start typing. This time, I wanted to start Skype. So I typed "Sky". It showed me that there were two hits. While I was thinking about which of the two I wanted, all of a sudden the bluescreen happened:

    SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

The error happened on ‎02.‎10.‎2015 at 21:52:18. Event log contains this information:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff801ce4c1260, 0xffffd0002620e460, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 100215-19250-01.

    Hi Joergi,

What is the reason for this bluescreen? Can you tell me?

First the usual causes, then an explanation about what system services are, then what error means.
This to hopefully understand it more.

    The usual causes are
    • System service,
    • Device driver,
    • graphics driver,
    • memory

System services are programs that load automatically either as part of an application's startup process or the operating system startup process to support the different tasks required of the operating system.

Somewhere in the system, a program, or a part of the program, wanted to do something that couldn't be handled properly by something else, an exception. Because that something else couldn't handle it properly it throws a stop error to prevent data loss. It isn't known what could have happened if the system was not stopped.

In case with the memory, the memory gives something data that is corrupted. Due to corrupted data that something requested, this something will execute the data, but because the data is corrupted the executed data will do something totally different then expected.
Windows throws a stop to prevent data loss.

I hope this is clear enough.
I won't go deeper, because then I wouldn't understand it either.

Something = usually a driver but I am not too sure.

I am trying to understand, what caused the bluescreen in my case.

I found this description for SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b errors:
    Bug Check 0x3B: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION - Windows 10 hardware dev

A SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION obviously indicates that an exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code. (Whatever that means.)

    Parameter Description
1 The exception that caused the bug check
2 The address of the exception record for the exception that caused the bug check
3 The address of the context record for the exception that caused the bug check
    4 0

    My bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff801ce4c1260, 0xffffd0002620e460, 0x0000000000000000).

    And what does that mean?

Lets try driver verifier to find any driver that might cause this.

    Diagnostic Test

     DRIVER VERIFIER

    warning   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
    Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Some windows drivers are blamed in a few crashes, but that usually means that a 3rd party driver is actually the cause.
Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

    Note   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

I have now run this verifier. The PC was generally slow (as expected), but I couldn't get it to crash - although I tried hard.

So...what's next? Doesn't the dump contain more helpful information?

Likely it does, but my knowledge of understanding and knowledge of commands isn't good enough to dig deep.
