Great! Good job. You are in good hands with @axe0.
It runs for a few minutes and then just.... I don't know... Stops. Screen goes blank and nothing. No response. I guess I have a bigger problem than I expected.
I'll have to step back and figure what to do next.
Are you using 5.01? If so, when it starts it asks you to push keys for multi core processors or for fail safe. Don't push anything. It will start on its own in a few seconds. When your screen goes black, is your computer still running? 5.01 will tell you your CPU Temp. What is the temp it is reading?
Yes, I am running 5.01 and I do not push an keys. I just let it run.
The temp varies between 60c and 67c in the 5 or 6 minutest\ that I watched it this morning before the screen goes blank.
When the screen goes blank I can't tell if it's still running. because there is no hard disk involved I don't here that clicking sound. Even when it's running it's hard to tell. I do not see any lights on my machine clicking however.
I have noticed that when I reboot after the screen goes blank that it seems to come up in safe mode. almost like it is crashing and leaving it in a bad state. It takes a couple of reboots before it comes back up normally.
Here's a screen shot while it was running.

I'm wondering if moving my memory around, or simply the removing and reinserting of the memory might do something.
Still doesn't explain the memtest86+ hanging.
It might yes, if the slot is the cause, but then you would have to replace your mainboard because that would mean that your mainboard is faulty.
just a question. You said you don't hear your hard disk clicking. Do you hear clicking when it is running? What hard drive(s) do you have?
It's not really clicking. It's that chatter sound. I have several Seagates. The os drive is fairly new. Maybe a little over a year.
Please run Seatools for DOS on all of your Mechanical hard drives http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...s-how-use.html
Well my primary drive is an Hitachi, but the other two are Seagates. I ran the SeaTools for DOS, Basic Short Tests and all 3 passed. Attached screenshot of results
