Random Immediate Reboot no BSOD
I've been having a black screen/restart/BSOD issue for awhile now. With some games it'll simply crash the game to the desktop. It was particularly bad when I tried to overclock my Vega 64 VRAM, in hindsight probably optimistic for a 650W PSU. I had tried many other things:
- DDU
- Tried various driver versions
- Reseat Vega
- Underclock Vega
- Run RAM at XMP values
- Run RAM at 2133MHz
- Ran driver verifier for ~17 hours
- Ran OCCT PSU Test for 35 minutes
- Different Power Supply
- Reset BIOS
- The commands posted in this thread just below
Thermals are all fine. I'd decided if I couldn't overclock the RAM too much and I was now hampering the GPU's performance, I'd might as well sell it. So I sold the Vega 64. Problem is, it still happens (lol) but it's far more stable with an RX 5700, maybe happens once every couple of days instead of several times a day.
I was playing Escape From Tarkov, it froze/restarted loading the map. I went into the BIOS, removed my RAM overclock and went back in. Crashed again, pretty fast. I'm wondering if it's the RAM? However I ran Karhu overnight, and at 25,000% it has 0 errors. I'm reluctant to say it's the CPU or motherboard, but I am so at wits end.
Update: I have now tried:
- New RAM
- Reinstalling Windows
- Reflashing the BIOS
- Reseating power cables
Update: It was the CPU.
