    Random Immediate Reboot no BSOD

I've been having a black screen/restart/BSOD issue for awhile now. With some games it'll simply crash the game to the desktop. It was particularly bad when I tried to overclock my Vega 64 VRAM, in hindsight probably optimistic for a 650W PSU. I had tried many other things:

    • DDU
    • Tried various driver versions
    • Reseat Vega
    • Underclock Vega
    • Run RAM at XMP values
    • Run RAM at 2133MHz
    • Ran driver verifier for ~17 hours
    • Ran OCCT PSU Test for 35 minutes
    • Different Power Supply
    • Reset BIOS
    • The commands posted in this thread just below

Thermals are all fine. I'd decided if I couldn't overclock the RAM too much and I was now hampering the GPU's performance, I'd might as well sell it. So I sold the Vega 64. Problem is, it still happens (lol) but it's far more stable with an RX 5700, maybe happens once every couple of days instead of several times a day.

I was playing Escape From Tarkov, it froze/restarted loading the map. I went into the BIOS, removed my RAM overclock and went back in. Crashed again, pretty fast. I'm wondering if it's the RAM? However I ran Karhu overnight, and at 25,000% it has 0 errors. I'm reluctant to say it's the CPU or motherboard, but I am so at wits end.

    Update: I have now tried:

    • New RAM
    • Reinstalling Windows
    • Reflashing the BIOS
    • Reseating power cables

    Update: It was the CPU.

    See rule #4:

    https://www.tenforums.com/misc.php?do=showrules

No piracy or discussion of piracy allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations (e.g. downloading youtube videos locally etc) - it is forum policy that no help shall be given to people who knowingly steal software or services.

Please remove any pirated / cracked software and any tools methods that can be used to bypass license activation. Upload a new V2 after completing these steps.

I don't have any pirated software installed anymore, so what you're probably looking at is traces from software I haven't had installed for years (Camtasia Studio). All it would mean is I'd be manually going through those logs and removing traces. I've attached a screenshot of all the programs I have installed, I'm paying for all of them. I feel that's less patronising than removing text and reuploading in my view.

It's not pirated, it's up to date and licensed to me. I wouldn't be able to update it if it was.

Ah, OK I see. That's related to older installations though, I don't think that would work with CC2020.

What would you like me to do? I've removed the IPs in my hosts, but obviously if I compile a new report it'll be irrelevant to my issue because I haven't crashed recently.

Thank you for complying with rule #4.

There were no collected dump files.

There were multiple BSOD throughout the year with different types of bugchecks.
The last BSOD seen in the logs was in November.

There were many unexpected shutdowns and restarts.
These can happen with a manual power off, high temperatures, malfunctioning hardware, BSOD, etc.

If you power off due to hangs and freezes please comment into the thread.

It can be easy to miss BSOD. The Windows settings will be modified so that it is easier to see when they occur.

    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    8) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
    9) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

    10) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    11) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

    12) Create a brand new restore point.
Create System Restore Point in Windows 10

Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce BSOD.

    13) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.

    14) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings

    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery window into the thread

    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > on the performance options window > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory window into the thread

    15) Run Memtest86 version 8.2 (or newer version if available) for four passes.
Repeat the test so that eight passes are performed.

Use a camera or smart phone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.
In case there are any problems uploading images use share links (one drive, drop box, or google drive)
Memtest86 has a feature to produce a text report.
Please post this in addition to the images.
