For Ccleaner uncheck:
a) Memory Dumps
b) Windows Log Files

I have eliminated some unnecessary startup items and have seen a big improvement, however I was still seeing slowdowns and as I watched Task Manager I saw a process heavily spiking its use of the CPUs from time to time...that process was:
'AsRogAuraService'
Quick into Google and I realized that is the program for controlling LED lighting for my Asus StriX motherboard and the LED light strips I installed around the clear case panel. A quick search or two turned up multiple threads on this matter where people with this MoBo and another version were seeing CPU usage spikes.

I have uninstalled the older version of Aura and after a reboot have installed the latest version and I seem to be freeze free now. I want to let it soak a little before declaring it solved, but it is looking like that is the culprit.

Thanks to all for the always good council and to turning me on to some new tools including Hard Disk Sentinel.

When available please update the progress with post #7 steps 22 - 24 , 26, 27.

Thanks for the follow-up @zbook. Since I uninstalled and then installed the updated Asus Aura program, I have had none of the freezes and lags at all for 24 hours. I still ran the SeaTools test you suggested, but I think I'm good to call this SOLVED, what do you think??

For the BSOD in many cases one week to ten days is a sufficient time for evaluation.
This is not an exact time period but is typically sufficient.

In the left lower left corner type reliability as Perejon posted.
This often can be used instead of viewing the event viewer.

If there are no unexpected shutdowns / restarts for 7 - 10 days then mark the thread solved.

Overnight run the chkdsk /r /v on each drive so that this fixes any drive file system corruption.

No issues for 10 days (except for a crash caused by Saitek's 'saik075c.sys' driver which I updated and resolved separately. Marking thread SOLVED. Thanks for the help and input team, I learn some things in this thread and discovered HD Sentinel to monitor my disk health. Good stuff.
