Ok, read the post above. If you have a DVD or USB to install with put it in the computer, note which drive letter it is. Then look in the sources file. Some ways down the list you will find an install.wim or an install.esd. Tell me the drive letter and whether you have an install.wim or .esd file.
    install.esd

It's a USB install drive on H: I'm guessing I need to change directory to H: then do Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth scan?

    use this command
    Code:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:H:\Sources\Install.esd:1 /limitaccess
The first one said it couldn't find the image, so we are going to tell it where the image is. Sometimes, it just won't work for some people, but it is supposed to. I have run it both ways. I really don't know why some can and some can't. We are trying to repair corrupted files from the original source. I really don't know why a license file would mess up your install though.

I'm sort of at a loss right now. We know you have corrupted files but for some reason can't repair them. If your USB is H:/sources/install.esd then the command is right.

    I appreciate your efforts! I switched to H:\sources\ & am running Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. It didn't work.

What's next? I am open to a clean install but dread re-installing all my software. I can do this with the USB drive without product key as I have upgraded is my understanding.

Try once more. Make sure you are using an admin command Prompt and use this, just for a try.

    Code:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:H:\sources\install.esd:1 /limitaccess

    Same error.

Yes, it is. You should be able to do a clean install, but there have been a lot of people who have had issues activating. By all rights, you should not. If you are willing you could try an upgrade install, just install from within your current OS. If that doesn't do it, then try a clean install.
