Well that app should at least have a name, see if you can find its name and version # right click on it.
Correction, there's a visual pop-up for new messages, but no audio feedback.

When I right-clicked on the icon, this is what I get:

I was able to capture a screenshot of the new message notification before it vanished.

Think I like my Howard much better than that one, I can click on Howard after it tells me I got new mail, and it brings me right to my outlook.com on the web, and shows me the new email.
Can be setup for many different email sites, google too.

Clicking on the notification opens my Gmail inbox to that message too.

Ok I found out what the name of this app is, don't know why Satchmo couldn't, anyhow its a add-on from google chrome.
Name of this app is Google Mail checker v4.4.0 if anybody wants to use it. safe site to find it would be filehippo

Why not get it from the Chrome Web Store? Here is a link.

After years of using Thunderbird for email and glitches since upgrading to Windows 10 we (hubby and I) set up Windows 10 yesterday.

We have gone through all the options and selected our preferences but none (apart from signature) seem to work.

We have both Mail sound and notification ticked but as yet have not had one single notification nor one sound since we started using Windows Mail yesterday morning.

This morning I noticed all my emails were showing as "read" so I went to change the settings to "wait 5 minutes after viewing in the reading pane" but once again despite this being selected all mail is still coming in as "read".

I have a similar problem on my work Laptop in which I use Outlook 2013 and since upgrading to Windows 10 I am not getting any email notifications nor sound.

Come on Microsoft, please sort this very basic problem out!
