Can't access Gmail account

When my email client tried to check my Gmail I was asked for my password. I entered my password and got the prompt to enter the code sent to my cell phone. Nothing is being sent to my phone. I can't find my backup codes to try. Anyone using 2 code verification for their Gmail account? If yes, can you check if your 2 code access is working? Unless Gmail is having a problem I don't understand why I'm not receiving the text with the code.

I have a GMail account where I can get a code sent. Opened a new Private Window in the browser (so it didn't 'recognise' me) and sure enough I had the option to send a text to my phone. The text arrived and it let me log in with no problem.
However I'm in the UK so various things could be different to where you are.

Could be an issue with your phone provider?

I'm getting text messages from my friends. I'm not home at the moment. I'll try again when I get home.

This was happening to me about half an hour ago. US, Ohio. I finally got code after asking for it to be resent several times.

I wonder if being away from home is why GMail is asking for a 2nd code, if it's unusual for you? I've had GMail access (via a mobile phone client) blocked before when using it on an unfamiliar network - I had to log into the website to clear it.

When I got home i tried again. This time I received my code in a few seconds. I guess the problem was on their end.

I have my gmail account setup for 2 step verification. I was worried because I wasn't receiving a text with my code. It's working again so I guess it was a problem at there end.
