Delay of Showing Text in Forms/Boxes and Switching Tabs in Any Browser
Hello,
I have an Envy 15t notebook running Win 10 x64 with 1TB 5400 rpm HD. Everything is up-to-date; no virus or malware that I know of (keep Kaspersky up-to-date). I recently upgraded Kaspersky to 2017 with Secure Connection but the issue happens when Secure Connection is turned off and not running.
When I am on the Internet using either IE or Firefox, and I go to type into text boxes or forms, including new emails for Gmail or in social media boxes, my computer lags behind what I type and what gets displayed onto the screen. It is not in real time and very frustrating. It is intermittent but consistent. Most is displayed correctly but then portions (or strings) are not and then it suddenly "catches up" or in social media's case, parts of the portion are truncated.
Also, I have noticed that in Firefox when I go to switch from one tab to another there is a major delay. Doesn't happen so much in IE.
Another interesting phenomena is when I am writing a new Gmail message and paste some text into the box, the cursor appears at the end of the pasted string but is totally unresponsive when I continue typing. I have to use my mouse and 'click' at the end of the sentence before I continue on with my message.
This is a newer unit. I have tried troubleshooting with various tools but to no avail. I ran chkdsk but it didn't generate a report for me and it ran at start up. I have run a benchmark but do not know how to read it. I also have a Speecy report but I think it says everything is all right.
Before getting into the 'hardware" and "maintenance", I ran a lot of software tools for malware, etc. and nothing was found. I also double checked drivers for mousepad and it was up to date (re-installed just in case of corruption). I also checked the firmware and BIOS version. BIOS needed updating but the problems persist.
Hoping an experienced person can assist me here.
