I'm still using WLM on my Win 7, Win 8 and Win 10 machines. Don't plan to switch to another client unless and until, WLM stops working for me.

I got this in my email...
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Windows Live Essentials 2009 and 2011 are not supported anymore, and you will need to update to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 and use the Mail app, or use www.outlook.com. To learn more about the Mail app, please click here.
We also recommend all Windows Live Mail users on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and use the built in Mail application to stay connected and get the latest feature updates.
We suggest saving this email so you can refer to it later.
Thanks for your understanding and continued use.
    Sincerely,
    The Outlook team
So does this confirm it? What will happen?
The second item. If you click in and examine the suggested update, you will find that it is only intended for OSs up to windows 8.1. This is not mentioned in the email. In fact, installing the update in windows 10 will, in most cases, crash Live Mail and need a reinstall.
The third item. Essentials has not been "supported"for some time. This does not, under any circumstances, mean it will stop working.I have several items of software on my computers which are not supported. My interpretation is that it means the provider will not be willing to offer any help
Windows Live Mail is a straightforward desktop, and comprehensive, mail fetcher. Unless MS deliberately tamper with it in order to drive users over to their new Mail program, there is no need to fear it will stop working. Worst case, I have the .exe stored for a quick reinstall.

Yes I agree with you. However I do not want to get caught with my pants down as Microsoft has it's plans and they will not be altered to satisfy the end use of the customer. I like WLM except for the fact that the spam filters no longer work. In the event that they drop the support as they have with Explorer then that means the client will be basically dead with no further upgrades or support.
I would like to be prepared in the event that this should happen.

Still working for me. I have 2 Microsoft accounts (and my wife has 1) plus a gmail each.

I think the point is some MS accounts require a change (so you have to install the patch) before others.

So for me if my xxx@outlook.fr or xxx@outlook.hu or xxx@outlook.co.uk or xxx@outlook.com change before the others that is all.

You just need to decide which ones you want to work as they make the switch.

The spam goes directly into the "Junk" folder. However when I select the junk email and try to "add to sender's blocked list" or add "domain to blocked list" it doe not work? Emails keep coming in every three days? There are a number of problems in this area with WLM as defined when a search is created. Not sure why this is going on but it is. I am using a "Hotmail" address.

If you have any ideas I would be grateful for a pointer to the problem.

Other than that WLM is working just fine.so far.

    Tks
