@Tully to clarify what Badrobot is trying to convey more precisely you need to click on the "All Apps" icon then scroll down to the "Project Spartan" icon, Right click on the Spartan icon which will give you the option to pin to Start or Taskbar. (Both are on LH side of Start Menu & pictured below)
Tully, you do need to cool it. badrobot gave you a perfectly legitimate and accurate answer to your question . Incidentally, you might remember me from a few weeks ago. If so, you may recall I'm almost 87 so I'm giving you some fatherly advice. I meant to tell you then that, although my current last name is Shahan, I'm told that it was originally Shahaunessy (spelling?) when my ancestors emigrated from Ireland.
That's okay guys. No offense taken here. I think he found it. He marked this thread as "Solved".
Maybe it's just that the "period" on his keyboard does not work. :)
Thanks for your reply!
I was a little "testy" at the time. I just bought a Surface 3 Pro w/i5. I can't connec it to my other computers on the Homenetwork,
Even though the Surface sees the other computers!
I got on the chat line to MS and the first thing they wanted was to register the Surface, no problem, it asked for the serial number, showing a diagram where it should be, it wasn't there! I had to exit the program & find the 12 digit serial number Under the kickstand! The numerals are 3/32" high on a grey background & numerals are in a darker grey color!
I finally got to "Talk" to some one & after about 15 mins of talk, he said he did not have the knowledge to solve my problem!
What is so secret about the serial number! I had to get a jewellers lope, hold Surface in a precarious positing, under a bright light & labouredly write down the numbers!
The "Young Bucks" are going to have to learn is that the average age of a computer user is now 56! I am 86 with the normal problems with eyesight & hearing!
I was in the "Space race" & retired to Ireland in 1984. I was invited to the launch of Windows 95 here in Ireland, In 95 of course, met Bill Gates etc. I still have the "Personal" invite "T" that says "I WAS THERE" etc.
I wrote my first programs in MS Basic on a Radio Shack TRS 80 w/ 2 5 1/4" Floppies!
I have always tested all MS betas, I build a new computer for each beta. YOU don't test new software on your main computer!
My latest build for Win10 is an ASUS with 500GB SSD i5 Etc. I am connected to FIBRE cable to the router which is "Built into my TV box! My desktops are connected to the router with cat 6 network cable. I have 200 MB down & 20 up!
Just so you know my credentials! I have always eventually received an solution to my problem on this forum over the years.
IownAmoneyPit finaly gave me a quick concise answer that WORKED. I know because I tested it on my Win10 computer while writing this!! I will certainly give him a reply to his Reputation!
Sorry for my dissertation but I had to clear things up AND give credit where credit is DUE!
That OLD Fart
TULLY!
[QUOTE=Winuser;233209]Then why did you have to ask?
Because I am an OLD 86 & not a sharp as I used to be!
That Old Fart
TULLY!
[QUOTE=Tully;233589]That's fine but please don't get all nasty about it when you reply.
My experience:
I started with computers in 1977, add in a university degree in computer science, 20+ years of professional IT experience and a total of 38 years of experience.. Point, being 80+ doesn't mean you have anywhere near the experience as other members on this forum..
Jeff :)
